The Meeting of the West Londo Lake Property Owners Association was held on Sept. 01 2018.

It was called to order by President Jerry Shuk at 10:00 A.M.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

  
Board members present were: Jerry Shuk, Chris Richards, Donna Gretka, Patti McDonald,     Debbie Hodgins, Eddy Hodgins, Al Longyear, Butch Fournier, Buster McDonald, George Kosnak, Lori Holland.  

 The minutes were read by Donna Gretka – approved by Chris R. second by Buster M.

Treasurers’ report was read by Patti McDonald – approved by Buster M. second George K. 
Association balance is now $6,487.95.

The Natural Gas pipeline is almost complete.  We should all be connected within a week.  Cross your fingers.  Again thank you to Sue Paavo for all the extra help. 

The Waterfowlers for Wounded Warriors annual poker run was held Aug. 21.  It was a great

success.  They raised over $2,000.00 for their cause.  There was however a complaint.  The “hosts” need to let their neighbors know the date and that there will be extra activity on the lake front.   If you park your boat at a non-participant property PLEASE be respectful and leave the property as you found it...

On Aug. 23 & 24 we had the association garage sale.  We want to thank everyone for all the donations, help working it, and all those who shopped.  The left-over’s were donated to F.I.S.H. We made over $500.00.  The money will help fund the Hoedown on Sept.8.

 On Sept. 8 we will start with a 4 wheel, golf cart, whatever, decorated parade.  12:00 at the park.

Prizes will be awarded at the Hoedown at Hodgins garage on Burnside 3-4 O’clock until ?  We will provide hot dogs and sloppy joes.  Bring a dish to pass and drinks.  We will have a corn-hole tournament, games for the kids and music.  Also bring a white elephant gift – wrapped.

Lori Holland is our new president and Debra Hodgins is our new secretary.  Jerry Shuk and I wish them good luck and a bottle of asprin.  Just kidding – you’ll be great!

Our association bank is closing its office in Hale.  We have voted and agree to open our new account at Northland Area Federal Credit Union in Hale. Three officers will be signers with only 1 signature needed.  Signers are: Lori Holland, Patti McDonald, and Debra Hodgins.              

Our 50-50 winner was Doug Bailey

Association balance is now:  $6,125.20.  We sent a memorial donation for Walt & Joann Wojewoda.                   

Sergio Licata gave us an update on his proposal to get playground equipment for our park.  He has gotten almost 200 signatures from our Londo lakes area.  Parks and Recreation has told us we may qualify for some grant money.  We will need to find out exactly what we need to do to get anything for our empty park

The Natural Gas pipeline is almost complete.  We still have maybe 2 holdouts on St. Aubin Dr. and maybe 3 or 4 on East Londo lake.  Hopefully it gets settled soon.  Of course they say don’t worry.  Again thank you to Sue Paavo for all the extra help. 

I would like to thank Katy Holms and 1 other? for our lighted boat parade.  I am so sad that so many have

stopped participating.  Hopefully next year more will join in again.

Buster McDonald has amended our by-laws.  We will have copies for you at the Sept. meeting.

We voted on Auto Owners for our liability insurance.  It covers all meetings and sponsored events.  As of today 7-10-18, we are covered.

We have new officers.  Lori Holland will be President, Chris Richards will remain V.P. Patti

McDonald will remain Treasurer, and Debbie Hodgins will be Secretary. 

Events:

Ron Shuch Poker Run July 21 - Debbie Hodgins will host an association garage sale.  Most of the money will go towards our sponsored activities, fish planting, community projects etc. Debbie will post the date on the web page and on facebook.  We will need donations and volunteers. - 

We would like to have a golf cart parade on Sept, 8.  Finalize on Sept. 1 meeting – Hodgins garage 10:00 A.M.

Association balance is now: $5,363.20.                    

Tammy McGuffy gave us an update on the muskrats.  She started setting her traps on Nov. 1 

and wound up taking 40 muskrats. Great job Tammy.  She mentioned large snapping turtles.

They can eat the Loon eggs or get the small chicks while in the water.  They have a season to

kill, July 15 to Sept. 15. You need a fishing license and a Strong trap.  It sounds like another

reason for a party in the fall.  Turtle soup. 

We are finally getting Natural Gas.  They have started laying the pipeline around the lake.  We

want to thank Sue Paavo and Joe Gretka for their hard work gathering and giving us information for the past three to four years.  It is finally happening. 

Our July meeting will be held on  July 7^th 10:00 – Ron Schuchs  8908 Burnside.  We will not 

decide anything about a boat parade until that meeting.  So, if you want to – go right ahead.

We need more ideas for the association to sponsor – giant garage sale, restock fish, welcome spring party, hoedown in fall, donate to good causes??? We mentioned a golf cart parade Sept. 8 more about that at the next meeting.  We also need to check on insurance for the association for where we hold our meetings or any function.

Buster McDonald is amending our by-laws, we will have new copies at the next meeting.

The lighthouse was placed on the island as a memorial.  The Loons have accepted it and one 

 chick has hatched, the other one should hatch within two days.

Debbie Hodgins has volunteered to be our new secretary.
